THE”
OPERATION CHILD” SHOE BOX PROJECT
This unique project affords us the opportunity to reach out to needy
children in desperate situations around the world. Empty shoe
boxes are filled with a variety of simple suggested gifts for boys and
girls ranging in age from 2 – 14 years old. Classroom teachers
and students as well EBT members will try to surpass last year’s total
of 80 filled shoe boxes.
Sixty-nine shoe boxes were collected in November 2006.
Over 4,950 were collected by the
Galway/Broadalbin Region last year. New York State topped 125,000
while the USA totaled over 6,000,000 shoe boxes!!! We would like
to thank Mrs. Phyllis Keeler as the North East Regional Coordinator for
all of her time and enthusiasm that she devotes to this special project.
In essence, it’s our kids helping other kids from around the world.
It doesn’t get any better than this!
