Galway Central School District is located in western Saratoga County in upstate New York, approximately 12 miles west of  Saratoga Springs , 25 miles northwest of  Albany , and approximately 200 miles north of  New York City .  It is one of the largest school districts, geographically (120 square miles) and is primarily a rural/suburban district.  All or part of the eight townships are included.

The K-12 enrollment of the district is approximately 1,200 students housed in a single building that consists of three distinct areas:

  Joseph Henry Elementary School (K-5)

  Galway Middle School (6-8)

  Galway High School (9-12)

A professional staff of approximately 110 provides a comprehensive educational program for the students.  Recent capital construction has included a middle school addition, new athletic fields and upgrades of the existing building.  Galway has a sophisticated computer network and participates in the Saratoga Adirondack Network that provides distance-learning opportunities for enrichment.

Class sizes in Galway are small with the average being around 20 students.  The District has a commitment to inclusion of special education students.

The community takes full advantage of the school facilities and uses them extensively for their activities.
