Traveling Through Europe

 A Math & Foreign Language Project

In this project you will create a tri-fold brochure for either France or Spain in which you will showcase unique attractions & cultural activities your country has to offer.    Due Date June 6^th

Your brochure needs to contain:

• Name of the Country, capital city, country’s flag, 3 National Holidays with dates & Graphics that pertain to the country, cities and souvenirs
• 4 exciting cities to travel to within that country &  what is has to offer

Ř      4 times you must show the distances in miles from one city to the other

(Attach a sheet of paper with proportional conversions)   

Ř      Must tell the traveler what roads/highways to take to get to each city

Example:  Madrid to Barcelona   100 miles - Take Route A-1 South to Highway B12East

• 8 items/souvenirs in which you recommend the tourist buy

Ř      8 times you must show the American dollar and Euro amount for each item

Ř      Have a variety of purchase suggestions: food, clothing, jewelry, amusement/museums, hotel room, car rental, airfare, or other interesting things you find while on the Web Quest

HOW TO:

You will have 7 days during Math to complete this project.  At least 3 of those days will be spent at the computer lab visiting the WebQuest, for you to collect your information about your country. The other days in the math classroom you will spend working on your map distances and money conversions, maps will be provided.

You will use at least 2 foreign language class periods to design your brochure.  If you are on task and bring the correct materials to math and foreign language you should have ample time to complete this project. Your homework will be to also work on this.

What to hand in:

o       Colorful, neat brochure of Spain/France includes pictures and other requirements

o       Math work – 4 city distances

o       Math work – 8 purchases
