Class of  1989

Jim Boykin
From 89 to 93 I attended Rider University in New Jersey, majoring in Marketing and working as a computer consultant.  From 93 to 98 I traveled the country to see as much as I could.  I worked in national parks in 9 states and traveled around the country 4 times having been in every state accept Hawaii.  In 1996 I married a wonderful woman from Stillwater.  I never would have imagined that I’d settle in this area, but being away for 10 years made me appreciate the “small town area” - and here I am happily settled in Ballston Spa.  I’m the president of We Build Pages,  a web design and internet marketing firm.  I can also be found a few nights a week at Longfellow's Restaurant in Saratoga waiting tables.

I didn't graduate from Galway, as I moved away at the end of 7th grade. The years I spent there, were fun, athletic, and memorable. I now live in Gloversville, NY, with my 3 sons, and wonderful husband. I attend FMCC/ Criminal Justice major, and love it.  Had I stayed at Galway School, I would have graduated in 1989. If anyone would like to contact me, please feel free.

Just wanted to say hello to all out there and hope everyone is doing wonderfully. I'm doing pretty much the same things as back then (driving people crazy), except now I drive people crazy at work instead of at school. After graduation I went to Hudson Valley Community College for a couple of years and was taking engineering classes. Then I went to UNC Wilmington for 5 or 6 years or something and came away with a BS in Biology & minor in math, and many great stories that I will never be able to remember. I didn't go to school the whole time, so don't think I was a complete slacker, but UNC Wilmington is on the beach, and man oh man I did enjoy beach life, a bit too much possibly. After graduating I took a job in telecom sales and moved to Charlotte (probably what most people do with a biology degree). They moved me up to the DC/Baltimore area and after a couple of years there I got back to the sciences. Now I work at the US Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner in the biotech/organic chemistry department (gov't jobs aren't as cushy as people think, but you won't here me complain either). I'm a carbohydrate expert here (in title) and have made it 3 years so far (so my acting skills must be money). Not that it matters, but I finally got fat too (up about 70 pounds from my days there)... thought I'd just throw that in for fun. Getting married in a few months to a wonderfully amazing woman from Mass. that I met down here (*#*!  Patriots). She tolerates more than anyone should have to (me), but I warned her first. Hope to start a small clan of little me's soon, I need to teach the art of sarcasm. Anyway, I'm in the Annapolis, Md. area now, and if anyone is in the area or passing through and wants to hook up, let me know. Hope everyone is great!
