In the fall of 2007 a Gifted and Talented Review Committee was formed to establish a Mission Statement and review the continuum of Enrichment Programs available in Galway Central School District.  The statement below was prepared by the committee.

Mission Statement

The Gifted and Talented Review Committee of Galway Central School District believes our school’s purpose is to educate all students to their highest level of academic performance while fostering positive growth in social and emotional behavior and attitudes. We believe that all students benefit by infusing enrichment opportunities into the district wide curriculum.  We recognize that there are students whose intellectual capacity, rate of learning, and potential for creative contributions require experiences beyond the regular classroom curriculum.  These highly capable students exhibit strong performance in academics, intellect, creative thinking, leadership, and/or visual and performing arts.  It is our belief that clearly articulated measures of performance should be used to identify these highly capable students. We believe that all students benefit when the school district and community work together to provide a continuum of research based services for the full range of our students’ abilities so that they reach their full potential.
