Good evening,

It was wonderful for our entire staff to welcome back our students to school last week. Unfortunately, a new school year also brings new COVID messages. The glimmer of good news is that the quarantine rules are not as restrictive as last year as indicated in the quarantine algorithms provided by the Saratoga County Department of Health found here:  Tracing Charts

Six individuals in the Joseph Henry Elementary School and two individuals in the Jr. Sr. High School have tested positive for COVID-19. The two individuals in the Jr. Sr. High School have not been in our buildings. In addition, one individual in the Transportation and Grounds Department has tested positive for COVID-19. Two others are in quarantine. Saratoga County Department of Health is responsible for contact tracing and this process is on-going.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive or who is in quarantine.

We do not have much "wiggle room" in the number of drivers. New drivers are being actively recruited and hired, but the training process takes some time. The district may have to revise our athletic trips, and under the most severe number of quarantined drivers, move to remote learning.

For Monday, September 13, Gray, Dark Blue and Train will have a sub driver. Students who attend out of district schools will be notified as they will have changes in their transportation which may include late or possibly no transportation.

Please remember to monitor and check your child/children for COVID-19 symptoms and keep your child/children home when sick, and seek testing where appropriate.

District testing protocols will be announced later this week.

Have a great week!
