ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Administrative Assistants Day, EAGLE NATION!!!!!! A huge shout-out to all our amazing administrative assistants at school who keep the wheels rolling for us. Challenges make life interesting; overcoming them makes life meaningful.  There was a lot of action on the track and diamond last night, so make sure to check out the highlights.  Today is sports picture day.  The weather looks beautiful today, and there are several home events.  Please come out to support the teams. There is a lot more action the rest of the week. Check out the schedule below for the season (please know that weather can cause dates and times to be subject to change for games and events).

HIGHLIGHTS

Softball Highlights

The JV softball team lost a battle last night against Cobleskill-Richmondville, 10-5.  Rylie Glenn and Katy Ferguson each had two hits for the Eagles.  Anna Watson had a single and two RBIs.  The Eagles fall to 4-1 on the season and play Canjo on Thursday.

  • The Modified softball team opened their season last night with a heartbreaking 10-9 loss to Fonda.  The Eagles fell behind early, but battled back.  Ailey Nelson led the way for the Eagles at the plate with two hits.  Emma DiPasquale, Hailey Hutchens, and Mikey Kondenar each added hits for the Eagles.

Track and Field Highlights

For the boys, here are the results:
  • Galway beat Duanesburg 82-52 and lost to Fonda 45 to 91.
  • Simon Evans won the 1600 and 3200
  • Ethan Watrobski won the High Jump and the Long Jump
For the Girls, here are the results:
  • Norah Schaperjahn won the 3000
  • Mae Budris won the Shot put and Discus
  • Josie Venditti won the 200
  • Amelia Jordan won the Pole Vault

Baseball Highlights

The JV baseball team fell to Cobleskill-Richmondville 15-3 last night.  Ian Horton picked up the lone hit for the Eagles.

  • The Modified baseball team opened their season last night with a loss to Fonda, 12-2.  Colton Kinerbocker and Henry Pasieka picked up the two hits for the Eagles.  They are back in action tomorrow as they host Mayfield.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Courtney Smith

This week, we celebrate Courtney Smith as our Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance.  Over the break, Courtney hit .444 with a double, 5-RBIs, 5-Runs scored, and 4 walks.  She was a wall behind the plate as she didn't allow a stolen base or a passed ball over the three games to help lead the Eagles to a 3-0 record. Courtney is known for her sportsmanship and leadership, inspiring her teammates to push their limits off the field. Her hard work and dedication exemplify the spirit of athletics, making her a true role model in the community. Congratulations, Courtney!
