ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Thursday is the bridge between the hard work of the week and the sweet reward of the week, EAGLE NATION!!!!!! It was a busy and exciting night for athletics yesterday.  Some great games on the diamond, with one dramatic comeback and some amazing performances by the track and field teams. Make sure to check out the highlights below.  There are a few games today and over the weekend, but it is a light schedule as it is prom weekend.

A reminder that this is the last week for JV and Varsity Baseball and Softball regular season games, as Sectionals start next week.

The Blue Jean Mile is today, so come out to walk, run, or stroll a mile in support of mental health!  The second annual Galway Blue Jean Mile supporting Mental Health Awareness will take place TOMORROW!  All proceeds will be donated to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).

Please register in advance if you are able, using the following link:

Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team as they won the League title and championship last night in dramatic fashion, their first league championship since 1992.

Help Us Shape the Next Capital Project

We invite Galway CSD community members to help us shape the next Capital Project by participating in the following public input sessions in the Junior/Senior High School Library:
  • Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for an abbreviated session called Coffee and Questions during the Galway Booster Club Car Wash and Can Drive fundraiser
Following the defeat of the Capital Project that was proposed in December 2023, the Board of Education Facilities Committee members have been listening to residents’ concerns and discussing the infrastructure needs that were not included in the 2016 Capital Project.
  • The majority of these needs were identified as critical in the district’s most recent Building Condition Survey (completed in 2020)
  • Some of these needs include work that voters passed in the 2021 Small Capital Project that focused on the bus garage, but could not be completed due to cost escalation during and after the COVID-19 pandemic
For archival information on all of our recent Capital Projects, and information on the work that is being considered for the next Capital Project, please click on the Facilities webpage here

Blue Jean Mile is TODAY!!!

Fun fact of the day:   Japan has over 200 flavors of Kit Kats. They're exclusively created for different regions, cities, and seasons. There are some tasty-sounding ones like banana, blueberry cheesecake, and Oreo ice cream, as well as some very questionable ones like baked potato, melon and cheese, wasabi, and vegetable juice.
