ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

Happy Thursday, EAGLE NATION!  Focus on the good and let the rest follow.  Sports team photo envelopes started to go home last night, so make sure you get them back to the coaches as sports pictures are on December 10th.  We had a lot of excitement on the hardwood last night, so check out the highlights below.  Wrestling opens its season with a home match tonight, so come out to support them.  New York is a major agricultural state, ranking in the top ten in the production of 30 commodities. It is first nationally in the production of cream cheese and cottage cheese; second in apples, maple syrup, cabbage, and yogurt; and ranked highly in tart cherries, green peas, and many more.

The weather will be bitterly cold tonight into tomorrow morning with temperatures dipping into the negatives.  Make sure you dress warmly tomorrow, especially at the bus stop. 

Make sure to order your team sports wear ASAP before the stores close.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

The Varsity Girls' Basketball team trekked out to Fort Plain for their contest last night. The girls jumped out to a 17-7 lead and then held Canjo/FtPlain to 0 points in the third quarter. All members of the team made the scoring column with a 58-23 final score. Kiera Allen led the team with 18 points, and Brielle Cameron finished with 11.  The Eagles move to 1-0 in the league and 1-1 overall.  They are back in action on Friday, as they host NDBG.

  • The JV Girls Basketball battled in a close game, coming up just short, losing by only 2 points with a final score of 28-26.  The Eagles were down 17-6 before they put on a brilliant run in the second half, but came up just short. The coaches are proud of how they battled back and had an opportunity to tie up the game with a few seconds left.  Avery Menge and Gwen Ashman both had 10 points for the Eagles.   The Eagles move to 0-1 in the league and 0-2 overall.  They are back in action on Friday, as they host NDBG.

Boys Basketball Highlights

The Varsity Boys Basketball opened league play with a tough loss at the hands of Fort Plain, as the Eagles fell 71-39.  Grayson Eagan led the way for the Eagles with 9 points, and Hunter Kanaby added 7.  The Eagles fall to 0-1 in the league and 0-3 overall.  They are back in action on Saturday as they play Lake George at FMCC at 9:30 a.m.

  • The JV Boys Basketball team opened league play with a nail-biting win over Fort Plain, 45-43.  The Eagles built a big lead, but the Hilltoppers chipped away to tie. But Max Sittner scored the last 3 points of the game to give the Eagles the victory.  Max led the team with 18 points, and Isaac Schaperjahn added 16 for the Eagles.  The Eagles move to 1-0 in the league and 2-1 overall.  They are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Cobleskill-Richmondville
