ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

On Thursdays, think about what you've already accomplished this week, even if it's something small. Writing down those wins can remind you of your progress and keep you motivated to continue strong into the weekend. EAGLE NATION! Spirit Week continues at the Eagles Nest.  It is quarter zip day, and Mr. Kirvin actually participated today.  He is walking around drinking his matcha and being all fancy.  He's not the Grinch after all.  Will there be a Kirvin sighting at the modified boys basketball game tonight????  Tomorrow is Blue and Gold day, and we will find out who will get pied in the face.

There was a lot of excitement on the hardwood last night, so make sure you check out the highlights below.  Tomorrow there is a new moon. Make sure you check out the events coming up and over break.
Old Man Winter has brought us a little warmth and possible rain, and 50 degrees tomorrow!  Let's hope. Think Spring!

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

The Galway Varsity Girls team jumped out to a 19-8 first-quarter lead and held steady the rest of the way, winning the game 47-33. There was a trio of teammates scoring in double digits, with Kiera Allen finishing with 18, Nora Schaperjahn, 13, and Brielle Cameron, 12. The entire team played great defense throughout. The team improves to 5-1 overall and takes on undefeated Mayfield, Friday for their next contest.

  • The JV Girls basketball team won a thriller last night in a back-and-forth battle with OESJ that came down to the wire.  Mara Allen hit the game winner with 2 seconds left to lift the Eagles to a 31-30 victory over the OESJ Wolves last night. Avery Menge and Nadia LaBate led the Eagles with 9 points each. Mara Allen had 6 points, while Gwen Ahsmann added 5.

Boys Basketball Highlights

Last night in WAC League action, the varsity boys defeated OESJ, 54 to 39. Galway went down 7 early, but with good defense from the bench led by Gilson, Paterek, and Sheft, they went 7 ahead, and then it was a tight game until the final 2 minutes. Hayden Flint had 28 pts., 16 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, 7 steals, and shot 81% from the line. Josh Eaton chipped in 5 rebounds, 8 points, and 2 assists. Sam Reedy had 7 points, 2 blocks, and 5 rebounds. Grayson Eagan had 3 assists and 4 points, Hunter Kanaby hit two 3's. Andy Miller had 3 rebounds and 2 steals. The boys will next take on Class B power Taconic Hills in the Corinth Christmas Tournament.
