ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS

It's a brand new Thursday, EAGLE NATION!  Your calendar has a clean slate. The possibilities are endless.  Last night was a great Senior Girls' Basketball Night.  Tonight is Senior Night for the Wrestling team, and it is also the last regular-season match for the season before their sectionals start.  It will take place right after warm-ups and before cross-mats. Come out and show your support.  The Winter Sports season has only two weeks left, so come out and see the action while you still can.  It is going to be extremely cold tomorrow morning with windchills of about -30 degrees. Make sure you dress warmly.

HIGHLIGHTS

Girls Basketball Highlights

The Galway Varsity Girls celebrated Senior Night last night with a game against Fonda. Beena McElhinney, Kirsten Friday, and Lilly-Ann Jessop were spotlighted as this year’s seniors. All three contributed nice minutes en route to a 63-30 win over Fonda. Kiera Allen had a game-high 20 points, Lily Bain added 15, Kaitlyn DelSavio had 9 points, Lilly Jessop had 7, and Kiersten Friday chipped in with 6. The team travels to Middleburgh next week for their next league game.  Also, can we guess which Senior is pictured here?

  • The JV Girls put up a great fight through three quarters last night, but Fonda was able to take control in the 4th to go on and defeat the Eagles.  Avery Menge led the Eagles with 9 points, and Katy Ferguson added 6 points.  Kaylee Jessop also scored her first two points of her career.  Way to go, Kaylee.

Boys Basketball Highlights

Last night, the Varsity Boys basketball team traveled to WAC League power, Fonda.  Battling a very good team, the boys fell 33 to 61. Hayden Flint scored 10 points, and Tynan Seaburn and Sam Reedy scored 7 points each.

We are down to our last GTA roster member. Our next member is a new member to the GTA.  He is going to be one of the GTA's secret weapons.  He helps run the girls' youth basketball program and served in the military (Thank you for your service).  He is also a beloved member of the school.  He comes in at 6'0' and plays power forward.  Can you figure out who it is?
