ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS
Wednesdays are tough, but so are you, Eagle Nation! It looks to be a cloudy day with much-needed rain moving in tonight through the overnight. It is still very dry out there, so please remember to be smart, as a burn ban is currently in place.
There was a lot of excitement on the diamonds and track last night, so make sure you check out the scores and highlights. We have a home track meet today.
The school year will be over before we know it, as we only have 31 class days left in high school, so make sure you stay on top of everything.
Spring Sports will be over in the blink of an eye, with only 2 weeks left, so get out to catch some games and meets before it's too late.
As we get into the final stretch of the school year, remember there are many events, so keep tuned in, as there are a lot of moving parts.
Congratulations to the Varsity Softball Team as they are the #2-ranked team in Section 2 Class C by the Times Union and number 7th in the State in Class C

Baseball Highlights
The Varsity Baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to first-place Johnstown last night, 3-4, as Johnstown walked it off in the bottom of the 7th. The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead as they pushed across a run in the 2nd and 3rd innings, scoring on a wild pitch and a fielder's choice, but the Sir Bills answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. The Eagles came right back at the top of the 4th with one out, Will Anuszweski singled, followed by a Hayden Flint walk. Then Andy Miller singled to load the bases, and on the first pitch, Evan Schaperjahn saw that he singled to left field to drive in Will to tie the game at 3-3, which is where it would stay until the Sir Bills scraped one across in the bottom of the 7th. Both teams got runners on and threatened in the 5th and 6th, but gutsy pitching and good defense kept both teams off the board. Sam Reedy went 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs with only 1 earned. Andy Miller took over with runners on and got the Eagles out of it as he held Johnstown off the board by keeping the hitters off balance until they cracked through in the bottom of the 7th as Johnstown scored an unearned run for the win. Evan Schaperjahn went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Andy Miller, Brody Paterek, Brayden Sheft, and Will Anuszewski all picked up hits for the Eagles. The Eagles are back in action on Thursday as they host Cobleskill-Richmondville.
The Modified Baseball team fell to BKW last night, 13-4. BKW jumped out to a 13-1 lead, but the Eagles struck for three in the bottom of the 7th, but they couldn't keep the rally going as they fell short late in the game. Cayden Sebro and Henry Pasieka each had two hits for the Eagles, while Nick Swartz added a double, and Cody Lanka and Johnny Schaperjahn each singled. The Eagles are back in action today as they travel to Canajoharie to take on CFP.

Fun fact of the day: We've only explored 0.001 per cent of the ocean floor. We have more detailed maps of the Moon than the deep seafloor. Out of a total area of more than 129.3 million square miles, scientists have explored less than 0.001 per cent, roughly the same as Rhode Island, the smallest US state.
