ANNOUNCEMENTS/TODAY'S EVENTS
Happy Friday, Eagle Nation! Nothing is impossible, as the word itself says possible. It has been a very busy few days at Eagle Nation, with sectional games and meets, concerts, and awards ceremonies. We want to take a moment to thank all our students and student-athletes for all their dedication and hard work. We also want to thank the families and the entire community for all of the support you show everyone.
Sport seasons have wrapped up for all sports except Varsity Softball and some of the Varsity Track and Field athletes. Varsity Softball won their semifinal match on Wednesday to move on to the Section 2 Class C Finals tomorrow (Saturday, May 30th) at 6:30 p.m. at Lansingburgh High School to take on Greenwich. A number of our Track and Field Athletes will be competing at the State Qualifiers Meet next week for a chance to attend States.
The #1 Seed and the #3-ranked team in the state, our Varsity softball team, will take on the #2 seed and the #9th-ranked team in the state, the Greenwich Witches, on Saturday in the Section 2 Class C Finals. Please see the link below to grab our tickets to come out and support them.

We have the following athletes advancing to the State Qualifying Meet next week. Here is the information that we have so far: the State Qualifying Meet is for anyone who finished 1st or 2nd in their Sectionals event or met the state qualifying meet standards. It is a two-day event with the different events divided over the two days, which will be Wednesday and Thursday next week (June 3rd & 4th) at Shenendehowa High School. As soon as a ticket link is available, we will share it.

Softball Highlights Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team as they defeated BKW Wednesday night in the Section 2 Class C semifinals, 10-3. The Eagles move on to the championship game on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Lansingburgh High School. The Eagles struck first last night in the bottom of the 3rd inning as Lily Bain tripled and was driven in by Emma Menge, followed by Amelia Leclerc scoring on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. The Eagles pushed two more across the plate in the 5th to take a 4-0 lead, and then the bats came alive in the 6th inning as the Eagles pounded out 6 hits with 4 walks in the inning to score 6 more runs to take a commanding 10-0 lead. Emma Menge went the distance in the circle, giving up only 5 hits and striking out 6. At the plate, Emma singled twice, driving in three runs. Courtney Smith added two doubles and two RBIs, while Kristina Becker added 3 singles. Kiera Allen doubled to drive in one run, and Rylie Glenn and Avery Menge picked up key hits for the Eagles as they advance to their second d straight sectional final. |

Track & Field Highlights
The Girls' and Boys' Varsity Track teams travelled to Waterford yesterday afternoon to compete in Group 5 Sectionals. Despite having a small roster, the girls came away with a fifth-place team finish in a field of 15. The boys finished 7th out of 15 teams.
Amelia Jordan opened up team scoring with a sixth-place finish in the Steeplechase; she also finished fifth in the Pole Vault.
Next on the track, the 4x800 relay team of Nadia LaBate, Josie Price, Norah Schaperjahn and Ailey Nelson were Galway’s first sectional champions of the day.
Norah Schaperjahn took second in the 400 and third in the 800.
Ailey Nelson placed fourth in the 3000.
Josie Price was fifth in the high jump.
Mae Budris placed second in the shot put and fifth in the discus.
The 4x400 relay team of Norah Schaperjahn, Nadia LaBate, Gwen Ahsmann and Josie Price placed third.
Eleanor Douglas rounded out the day with a sectional championship in the Pentathlon.
Congratulations to the girls' team on a 58.5-point performance!
On the boys' side.
The Boys 4x800 relay team of Jacob Bruchac, Evan Morris, Tyler Bombard, and Issac Schaperjahn placed second.
Nathaniel McDevitt placed 6th in the Steeplechase
Jameson Wagner finished 2nd in the High Jump
Nathaniel Mele won the pole vault to become a sectional champion.
Tyler Bombard placed 6th in the pole vault.
