Cross Country Highlights
The Varsity XC team ran in Fort Plain last night in their final dual meet of the season against Fort Plain and BKW. Nathanial McDevitt won the boys' race, followed by Logan Miner in 3rd, Evan Morris in 7th, Grayson Eagan in 8th, Gabe Mele in 9th, and Brayden Sheft in 10th. Brayden's spot as the 6th Galway runner to cross the line is what broke the 28-28 tie between Fort Plain and Galway. The final score was 38-40, with Galway taking the win!
Ailey Nelson came in first for the girls, followed by Eleanor Douglas and Amelia Jordan. The team returns to Fort Plain on Saturday for an invitational and next Tuesday for the league championship. Tell them to run fast and pass as many runners as possible!
Modified cross-country finished out their dual meet season in strong fashion on Tuesday afternoon. The skies were bright and sunny as all 6 of our modified team raced. Wyatt Slosek had a great race but could not hold his dual-meet victory streak...no 4-peat. He finished second and over 20 seconds ahead of the 3rd-place runner. Cooper Patterson bested his brother Nicola by one place as they came in 5th and 6th for the boys.
Elizabeth VanEss had another steady race and really battled her favorite hill in all the lands. She finished in a strong 3rd place for the girls. Railyn Loya worked hard and came in 6th. Iris Girard had a gutsy performance in a battle for 7th place and came up just a second short of 8th for the girls.
