Dear Galway School District Families,

The Department of Health notified the district about an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 in the elementary school. They have completed their contact tracing. This individual was last in our building on January 4, 2021.

Currently we have approximately 30% of our elementary staff in quarantine. Most of the quarantines expire at the end of the week. Due to the staff shortage, Joseph Henry Elementary School (PreK-6) will remain virtual through Friday, January 15, 2021. As a reminder, Monday, January 18th is a holiday. Elementary students will return to in-person learning on January 19th.

Lunches will be packaged for the week and will be available for pick up on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 11a.m.–noon in the elementary circle.

The Junior/Senior High School will remain open for hybrid learning.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive or who is in quarantine.

Thank you,

Brita Donovan
