Galway Central School District is excited to announce a new family event called “Protecting the Nest,” which will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at Galway Central School District. 


This special event for the Golden Eagles will include informational sessions with a focus on safety for parents and fun activities for students including: 

“Right Under Your Nose” by the Prevention Council for parents (only) of students in grades 6-12. There will be two sessions capped at 25 people. 

“Cybersecurity - Protecting Your Identity” for parents PreK-12 by WSWHE BOCES. The first 30-minute session will be at 5:30 p.m., and the second session will be at 6:30 p.m. 

“RULER Presentation/Activity” for parents PreK-12 by Junior/Senior High School Principal Mr. Miller and Direction of Pupil Personnel Services Mrs. Hall. The first 30-minute session will be at 5:30 p.m., and the second session will be at 6:30 p.m.

“This event is centered on our district vision, mission, and goals,” said Galway CSD Superintendent Brita Donovan, Ed.D. “This includes opportunities for students to try co-curricular activities to embrace optimal wellness while their parents obtain resources on a variety of safety topics. Our mission is to foster positive growth in social/emotional behavior and attitudes, so together we can help each student reach his or her maximum potential.”
